Hair color is basically dyed using two chemicals: Agent 1 (alkaline) and Agent 2 (oxidizing agent). The alkaline agent in Agent 1 opens the cuticle, allowing the dye to penetrate inside the hair, and the oxidizing agent in Agent 2 breaks down the melanin in the hair and bleaches it. By opening the cuticle and allowing the dye to penetrate the bleached hair, the desired color can be developed.
Avoid shampooing on the day you color your hair
Coloring involves soaking the dye into your hair, and it takes about a day or more for the dye to blend into your hair. Freshly dyed hair is very delicate, so if you wash it immediately after coloring with a strong, commercially available shampoo, any pigment that is not fully absorbed may be washed away. To keep your hair color looking beautiful, avoid shampooing on the day you get it colored at the salon.
Hair care tips for colored hair
Hair color is sensitive to heat and melts easily at high temperatures, so washing dyed hair in hot water can cause the color to wash away. Therefore, when washing your hair, try to use lukewarm water as much as possible. Also, leaving your hair wet after washing can cause damage. After washing your hair, gently dry it with a towel and quickly dry it with a hair dryer. When doing this, keeping the hair dryer at least 10 cm away will help reduce damage.
